Mark your calendars: Nerd Jeopardy is back for round two. Since we had an overflow crowd at Lolita, this time we’re taking over the great Housing Works Bookstore in Soho.
Wednesday, Feb. 23rd | 7pm
126 Crosby Street, New York
But I’m Thirsty
We’ll provide free wine and beer until it runs out, then it’s a cash bar. A cash bar that will make you feel good about yourself: all proceeds fight AIDS and homelessness.
And I’m Really Smart
There are two ways to participate: You can form a three-person team and compete for glory, respect, and prizes of serious cash value with two other teams. You can also play as an audience member during the speed quiz at intermission.
What Should I Expect
- A near-perfect replica of a certain TV game show, complete with Answers in the Form of a Question, Daily Doubles, and Final Jeopardy. Except (almost) all the questions are about books.
- Verbally abusive coaching by reigning Nerd Jeopardy champions The Merry Husbands of Windsor Terrace.
- 75-100 publishing and bookselling folks all trying to out-Tweed one another.
And did I mention this is all a part of Housing Works’ Geek Week?
If you’d like a reminder about this event, I recommend subscribing to Work in Progress. (I recommend that anyway.)
