DesignPorn Sundays #4: The Dead Scene Scroll

A part of me resists Tumblr blogs, perhaps because the examples I’ve seen seem to favor image over text. Text has a hard enough time keeping up these days as it is. Now they are blogs that do nothing but list interesting images, sometimes without explanatory text or links? I can’t tell if this is a harbinger of something terrible, or some beautiful microcosm of our culture. Ok, enough grandiloquence. Enjoy these rabbit-hole sites of nothing but beautiful jpeg-alia.

That’s it, you’ve convinced me. I’ll try out a Tumblr blog and let you know how it goes. I’m also thinking of switching this site over to Squarespace, or building a new one from scratch. We’ll see!

  2. The thing about Tumblr is that it’s a different flavor altogehter. It’s not one or the other, it’s both (or I should say all. or as many as one can handle.). For me, they all have different flavors and purposes. My love for Tumblr grows more every day. It seems really pure love. Doesn’t need so much explanation. It’s just reflection of who you are. Facebook seems spammy — but I’m trying to find the good in it still — but I don’t want to go there often anymore (really trying to bond with those Fan pages. Hard.). Twitter is what it is. My first true love. I haven’t been able to bond with Linked In or Flickr. I’ve tried. Doesn’t click (yet!).
